What does it mean to be accredited by the Living Wage Foundation?

The Living Wage Foundation is an organisation that recognises and celebrates the leadership shown by living wage employers across the UK. Over 9000 organisations, including Yapily, voluntarily choose to pay the real living wage because we believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.

According to the Living Wage Foundation, 70% of employees said they would be more likely to stay with an employer for longer and 68% said they would speak more positively about their employer when paid the living wage. Most importantly, 61% said they would be more productive at work.

The real living wage is significantly higher than the government’s National Living Wage. It’s an independently calculated hourly rate of pay that is based on the actual cost of living, currently standing at £9.90 in the UK and £11.05 in London to reflect the higher costs of living in the capital.
